Insulate Hampshire are back at The New Forest and County Show a year on since the scheme started.
This year the scheme that offers Hampshire homeowners and private renters loft insulation and cavity wall insulation will be completely free of charge, with the addition of free rolls of DIY loft insulation through local community groups.
Insulate Hampshire is the council backed scheme working in partnership with Hampshire County Council and the 11 Districts across Hampshire and with funding from ScottishPower.
Insulate Hampshire offers professionally installed cavity wall and loft insulation free of charge to homeowners and private renters within the Hampshire region, where less than 2 ½ inches of loft insulation currently exists (but does not include Portsmouth or Southampton City Council residents).
The event will mark the first year anniversary of the scheme which was launched at a sunny New Forest show last July.
Sarah Thomas, Project Manager for Insulate Hampshire told us “The scheme has had a successful year since launching at the New Forest show last July and we’re delighted to return 1 year on and ensure as many people as possible benefit from the free insulation which can expect to save around £300 on energy bills each year.”
Insulate Hampshire are also now teaming up with local community groups to deliver rolls of DIY insulation to residents in Hampshire, completely free of charge.
Community DIY allows householders to do it themselves for free by collecting from one location. Customers will be offered rolls up to 100m2 of insulation free of charge. By topping up to the recommended 270mm Hampshire residents can protect themselves from the cost of rising fuel bills and enjoy a more comfortable home.
Hampshire residents can see the Insulate Hampshire team at the New Forest show this week or apply online at www.insulatehampshire.co.uk as well as by telephone on 0800 952 0037.
There is also a National free insulation scheme available throughout England residents can apply by calling 0800 952 0037.
To qualify, applications must be received by 30th September 2012, with installations taking place until 30th November 2012 and after this date free insulation schemes will be replaced with low interest loans.
