Insulate Hampshire went back to The New Forest and Hampshire County Show on the scheme’s first year anniversary since it was launched at the show last July.
To celebrate, Insulate Hampshire offered customers the chance to win a hamper made up of local Hampshire produce when they signed up for a free technical survey to see if their house could benefit from the free insulation estimated to save around £300 a year on fuel bills.
The lucky winner was Mr Webster from Chandlers Ford who said “I am absolutely delighted to win the hamper; we could not believe our luck! We even decided to enter the Euro millions because of winning the Hamper but unfortunately were not so lucky”
Insulate Hampshire is the council backed scheme working in partnership with Hampshire County Council and the 11 Districts across Hampshire and with funding from ScottishPower.
Insulate Hampshire offers professionally installed cavity wall and loft insulation free of charge to homeowners and private renters within the Hampshire region, where less than 2 ½ inches of loft insulation currently exists (but does not include Portsmouth or Southampton City Council residents).
Insulate Hampshire are also now teaming up with local community groups to deliver rolls of DIY loft insulation to residents in Hampshire, completely free of charge.
Community DIY loft insulation allows householders to do it themselves for free by collecting from one location. Customers will be offered rolls up to 100m2 of insulation free of charge. By topping up to the recommended 270mm Hampshire residents can protect themselves from the cost of rising fuel bills and enjoy a more comfortable home.
Hampshire residents can apply online at www.insulatehampshire.co.uk as well as by telephone on 0800 952 0037.
To qualify, applications must be received by 30th September 2012, with installations taking place until 30th November 2012 and after this date free insulation schemes will be replaced with low interest loans.
